The bride and groom in the Roses Wedding Ducky set both work full-time as wedding planners so they just planned their own wedding and did a fabulous job. They went for traditional wedding with a chicken or beef dinner and red roses as their flowers. Black and red are their wedding colours. Their twins were part of the wedding party as well which is a new trend and tradition that they started.

I’m Ernie’s Best friend, not Bert.

The rubber ducky under Ernie’s arm doesn’t actually contain any information on the bottom. The Ernie stuffed animal is TYCO brand from 1997. He sings the classic instrumentals “Rubber Ducky you’re the one” and “Old McDonald had a farm and on his farm he had some ducks.” I don’t think the rubber ducky under Ernie’s arm is his ducky from Sesame Street. I think Ernie’s Rubber Ducky from Sesame Street is the ducky sitting on his left and this is the ducky that I describe above. What do you think? Is this Ernie’s rubber ducky or just another look alike?

Ernie’s Rubber Ducky has pretty blue eyes and three little eye lashes. She has a smile on her face and is smiling with her eyes.

Lazy Duck Stuffed Animal has a maid and a chef, so he gets to be lazy quite often. This stuffed ducky used to sit on my brother’s bed when we were kids and then it became part of my collection. I am not sure if 24k animals are still around but this ducky is only worth about $5.00 on ebay.

Telus Ducky

I love being famous.

Telus Ducky has made all the other ducks back at the pond quite jealous. He has been featured on billboards, TV commercials and as a theme on PowerPoint presentations at TElus (back in his most popular days). He isn’t used very often anymore but he was one of the first animal mascots that Telus used in their commercials.

My husband is a project manager at Telus and used to work at a Telus mobility store a long time ago before he became a Project Manager. He worked with my aunt at the store and that is how I received the Telus Ducky stuffed animal. I also used to have an advertisement poster off a bus with this ducky featured on it. I think we own almost all the Telus stuffed animals that are available.

I really like the Bill ducks. They are simple but fun and cute. I have the large Bill duck with the Buccaneer outfit,  Billionaire outfit, sailor hat (no bandana though) and rain hat in the large size. The only outfit I am missing in the large size for large bill is Baseball Bill’s outfit. It’s really cute to have outfits for rubber ducks as you would for your Barbie or Cabbage Patch dolls.

The Mini Bill Set of Ducks love to play poker. When they have poker parties on Billionaire Bill’s yacht, Billionaire Bill usually pays for everything so that is an added bonus. From left to right from back row to front row, the ducks are Buccaneer Bill, Baseball Bill, Billionaire Bill, Classic Bill and Sailor Bill. Classic Bill enjoys hanging out in the rain and fishing with Sailor Bill.

Spotted Duckies love camping. They camp every single weekend in the summer and love playing on slip and slides. They run and race each other to see who can slide the furthest off the slip and slide mats. They have received grass burn a few times on their wings. If you’re looking to add some excitement to your long weekend all you need to do is purchase a Pouch of Fun Ducky set. This set includes a constipated looking little ducky with eyebrows. He likes to look at people out of the corner of his eyes and he never changes his expression (even if you try to wash or slap that look off his face). It also includes an orange sponge, a yellow ducky nail brush and a terry towel ducky that you .can use as a wash cloth. The only thing missing from this set is the soap.

My daughter is probably my biggest blog fan. She loves coming to the basement with me to pick out the next set of duckies to blog about. Sorting through a bin of duckies is just like opening all her birthday gifts. You’ll see her pictured in the next few blog posts because she was feeling photogenic.

Somewhere in between all my rubber ducks people started buying me ducky stuffed animals and they have almost become an entire separate collection on their own. On the left of this picture on and near the arm of the chair are 4 ty duckies. The large ty duck is named Quackers and he was retired in 1998 and was once made without wings (according to his tag). The medium sized duck is Quackers style 4024. He was born on April 19, 1994.

The other ty ducky that is this size that isn’t on the arm of the chair has a crinkly bum and is part of the Bow Wow Beanies collection. The smallest ty ducky is part of the Jingle Beanies collection.

The Gap ducky at the front next to the ty ducky is called Squeakers lucky the duck. If you squeeze her bum she quacks. Her tag says: “hobbies: waddling, quacking, swimming with friends. loves: to play pond tag, favourite food: crackers, best quality: friendly.”
The ducky closest to the back of the chair and next to the largest ty ducky is a gel animal. You can heat up his gel pack or put the gel pack in the freezer.

I am always ready for Halloween.

You should really come visit me in the pyramids in Egypt .I am a well designed ducky. If you feel the cloth that was used to mummy-fy me, you can see why I can’t get my other eye out from behind the material. Please bring scissors or a really sharp knife with you. At least m yeaka, was left open so I can breathe.I was hatched on Oct 27 and I always look this way (it’s not a disguise for Halloween). There is an RIP headstone on my bum.

Bud ducks used to be called Deluxe Ducks Room Interior Products and they had a yellow square on their chests as part of their brand. For example, Love a Duck from 2002 has the square symbol. Darling Duck is from 2004 and has the new bud brand on her chest with a “U” instead of a yellow square. She is a beautiful aqua colour that reminds me of the Aegean sea. She would look best in a baby’s room or a bathroom in your house. If I didn’t currently have our house staged for selling, I think I would start placing bud ducks around our house. I mean after all they are meant to be part of your room interior design.

She is all black except for the whites of her eyes and the huge square 4 karat diamond on her chest.She loves things that sparkle but only wears real diamonds. For Mother’s Day she received pancakes in bed and a homemade spa day complete with swimming, a facial, nail painting and a massage from all her kids and her husband. She loves her ducklings and is thinking of opening a ducky day home (once her own ducklings are in school).

Love a Duck was one of the first bud ducks created. Bud ducks used to be called Deluxe Ducks Room Interior Products. They came in these interesting bubble boxes that take up a lot of space. They are now packaged like Diamond Ducky (link).

Friendly vs Wild

There is a slight difference between leopards, jaguars and cheetahs. It makes for an interesting Google image search. Monkey Duck’s eyes look like they should be googly eyes. This is the second monkey ducky that I own. There is also this monkey ducky. Monkey Ducky owns every Curious George book. Leopard Ducky is also into Curious George and she owns all the stuffed animals including the sock monkey Curious George features in the first monkey blog post.

Bamboo vs Leaves

My husband and I were in South Common today shopping and as we passed Rafters, I thought to myself that it looked exactly like the type of home decor store that would carry rubber duckies. They have horse rubber ducks, monsters and the elegant baby brand of rubber ducks too. I was selective and limited myself to purchasing 5 new rubber duckies for my collection.

These are the first Panda and Giraffe duckies that I have seen. This brand of ducky looks really happy (although, most duckies look pretty happy) and these duckies have their tongues sticking out too.

We love trinkets.

In 2002, I received the Ducky Drawer Set for Christmas. It used to house my nail polishes but now it houses hair accessories for my daughter. It is a great little set of drawers that can make any room brighter. It used to be in my bathroom but it can be used in any room in your house. It is one of my favourite non-rubber ducky items.

On top of the set of drawers is a jar of ducky candies with a pink ducky bracelet wrapped around and ducky nail clippers. The clipper is the ducky’’s beak.

Ducky Bank works full-time as an accountant and recently started trading ETFs and other stocks. He can hold a lot of money and is my daughter’s ducky bank.I received the ducky Kleenex holder on the right as a Christmas gift from my parents in 2002. I only know this because I recently sorted through my last 15 years of photos and saw the picture of me opening this gift. The Ducky Kleenex holder on the left is from Value Village and I purchased it a few years ago.

Earring are less messy to hold than soap.

I would imagine that Martha has probably already thought of this one, but soap dishes make great jewelry holders. If all your earrings are neatly laid out and matched up on the dish, you can save a lot of time in the morning. However, if you have a cat like mine then you may need to reorganize your earrings more often than you wish. Twice now, my cat has jumped up on my dresser and knocked over my earring dishes onto the floor. Thankfully the dishes have not broken yet.

Bouncy Devil Ducky is the perfect ornament for your dash. We usually have to drive over a 100 km to get him to bounce. He isn’t in our car at the moment because he lost his stick and wasn’t sticking to the dash. I am going to use velcro instead to help him stay put. He has fire on his wings and a yellow beak and tail. He is a speed demon flying and driving.

Yellow Aloha Bud Lookalike Ducky has a blue twin. Both of these duckies look like Bud duckies because they both have a square on their chests. However, the Lookalike duckies are bigger and have bigger eyes too. Their eyes also look rather alien like too.

Yellow Aloha Bud Lookalike Ducky works at a health clinic and gives vaccinations. She also gives the ducklings fancy Band-Aids after they receive their vaccinations.She used to work as a school nurse until there were cutbacks.

I might spray water in your face.

Paddle Ducky is a wind up paddle toy from the dollar store. She paddles very fast out of the water too; If she has any water left on her feet, she will spray you in the face with it. My daughter finds this quite hilarious. Paddle Ducky is really good at turning around before she reaches the end of the tub too. The quick turnaround has helped her win many pond races.

Made-up Mini Lanco Ducky from Germany

The squishiest ducky.

A friend at my work went on a work trip to Germany in October 2006 and she brought me back this ducky.She wrote “Germany” on the bottom of the ducky and it is still perfectly visible. This is impressive because the ink has become smeared or unreadable on the bottom of my other duckies. Lanco duckies may actually be made of rubber because they smell a bit and are super squishy.

Made-up Mini Lanco Ducky doesn’t sounds like a regular rubber ducky. Her squeak sounds like the squeak of running shoes on a freshly polished gym floor.She has pink puckered lips and purple eyelashes that stick up off the top of her head.This is the only Lanco ducky I own. I’ve always thought that they are a bit odd looking but I have seen some cute Lanco duckies online.

Pink Mustache Ducky from Michaels

I make the best Bolognese Ragu.

I just bought this duck from Michaels two weeks ago and I was surprised to see that they were sold out of the Monster ducks, so I never bought the last one in the set. The west end store has a great selection of toys for themed birthday parties. One of the themes was mustaches. There were mustache necklaces and mustaches on sticks. It is definitely a theme that I have never considered for a kids party.

Pink Mustache Ducky is a fantastic Italian chef. You should really try her cooking sometime. She has a black curly thick mustache and thinks that perhaps she should have waxed more. She has 3 friends with mustaches that come in yellow, blue and purple.
